She is a Peruvian fine and mixed media artist, sculptor, illustrator, and actress. While not widely recognized, her diverse artistic talents and self-taught approach have made her a prominent figure in contemporary art and culture.
Her venture into theater led her to the bright lights of New York City, where she collaborated with the "Abya Yala Arte y Cultura" collective. In productions such as "Valiant Women," she portrayed the role of Mercedes Cabello, a pioneer in the fight for women's civil rights in Latin America. She also took part in "We Are Still Here," a play that addressed immigration issues. Her unique acting versatility shone in the bilingual children's play "The Fox, the Mole, and the Moon," where she brought to life four magical characters simultaneously.
Millery is also an accomplished illustrator of children's books and a teacher of manual arts and creative development for children, conducting her work in city libraries.
In the realm of visual arts, Millery Beltran has exhibited her pictorial works in collective exhibitions in New York City. In May 2019, she showcased her acrylic paintings at the La Biblio MusicinetecaCultural Center in Barcelona, Spain, under the title "Visual Universes." In October of the same year, she launched her itinerant exhibition of oil paintings titled "Warmis" (a Quechua word meaning "Women"), invited by the Peruvian Cultural Center (CECUPE) in Paris, France, at La Maison de l'Amérique latine. This exhibition continued in August 2020 in the city of Cusco, Peru, being selected by the Peruvian North American Cultural Institute in that city. Due to global health restrictions, this exhibition was presented virtually.
Millery concluded her itinerant series "Warmis" 2019-2020 at the William V. Musto Cultural Center in Union City, New Jersey, United States. In November 2021, she presented her exhibition "Iconic Cosmogony" at the Peruvian Consulate in Paris as part of the "Fortnight of Peruvian Culture in Paris, Quipu 2021" event.
Currently, Millery is working on a series of paintings and sculptures for an upcoming exhibition titled "Glow," set to be held in May 2024 at the William V. Musto Cultural Center in Union City, NJ. Parallel to this, she is also developing her series "Elves and Hummingbirds," scheduled for release in 2025. Additionally, she is preparing her first children's book, which she will write and illustrate personally, marking a new milestone in her artistic career. Moreover, she passionately manages her editorial venture, "Qinti Publishing," dedicated to editing and publishing books in Spanish and English by various Hispanic American authors. Her tireless creative spirit and commitment to artistic expression continue to guide her in new directions, promising a future filled with artistic exploration and cultural connections.
